Summer 2027 | Halkidiki, Greece
Jewellery Making Retreat in Greece
Reset. Design. Create.
A jewellery training experience like no other.
With undivided focus on craft and learning.
Space for fresh perspectives and inspirations.
Take your craft somewhere new.
And give your creativity the time and attention it deserves.
A different setting.
A fresh perspective.
The retreat programme brings together two equally important parts of the experience: dedicated jewellery training and time to enjoy and explore Greece.
With a maximum of four students, training draws from the wider Jewellery Academia curriculum and is shaped around your starting point and what you want to develop. You might be taking your first steps in jewellery making, learning new techniques, developing existing skills, exploring new design directions or dedicating focused time to your own work or collection.
The programme takes place in my second jewellery studio in Neochori, Halkidikis — my home village, where I grew up. Creating the programme here was a deliberate choice: to bring students to the place I come from, share a side of Greece beyond the usual tourist destinations, and experience some of the places that shaped me.
Work hard at the bench, then step outside the studio and experience Greece. Explore the landscape, archaeology, museums, local culture, food and beaches, with time to slow down, exchange ideas and return to your work with a different perspective.

Reset
Step away from your daily routine and give yourself dedicated time in Greece, where the pace slows down, leaving space to experience the place, focus on your jewellery practice and explore where your creative journey might take you next.
Design
Explore new directions, refine your designs and give your ideas the time and attention they need to develop. Through individual guidance, take them further — whether you are developing a single piece of jewellery or working towards a wider collection
Create
Bring your ideas to the bench and develop them through dedicated studio practice. Build and refine your jewellery-making skills through practical work, individual guidance, repetition and problem-solving, while developing the control and technical understanding needed to take your work further.
Your training schedule is individually planned around you, based on the skills you already have, what you want to learn or develop, and how long you choose to join the programme.
Your individual training can include:
What will you make?
Learn the foundations of wax carving or develop existing skills through sculptural carving, forming, tool making and stone setting in wax.
Wax Carving
Goldsmithing & Silver Jewellery Making
Learn or develop fundamental bench skills and jewellery construction through working directly in metal, including sawing, filing, forming, soldering and finishing.
Stone Setting
Learn or develop stone-setting skills through wax and direct metalwork, with techniques selected according to the skills you already have and what you want to achieve.
EXPLORE STONE SETTING →
Jewellery Specialisms
Experiment with new techniques and explore specialist areas of jewellery making, such as Mitsuro Hikime, mother-of-pearl work and tool making. Learn each technique as a medium in its own right, or explore how to integrate it into the skills and jewellery-making practice you already have.
TAKE YOUR WORK FURTHER
Develop Your Own Work or Collection
Bring your own ideas, new designs, work in progress or existing collections and use your time in Greece, together with Stelios’s individual guidance and technical knowledge, to finalise them or take them to the next level. With dedicated bench time, explore new directions, work through design and technical challenges, experiment with techniques and refine your making.
IN & BEYOND THE STUDIO
